Oasis Learning Experience
(OLE)
The school recognises the importance of providing platforms and learning spaces for our students to develop their 21CC knowledge, skills, dispositions, and values. These competencies will enable them to meet the demands of specific contexts. One of these platforms, which is referred to as OLE week, adopts an interdisciplinary teaching approach that is more experiential-driven and less product-driven. The teaching and learning experiences are specifically designed and curated to develop a sense of ownership among our students in their learning. During OLE week, students are also given the opportunity to navigate various information, requiring them to overcome uncertainty and adopt appropriate problem-solving strategies.
Place-based Learning
(PBL)
We take pride and joy in designing the physical learning environment and spaces in school to facilitate key teaching and learning approaches particularly Place-based Learning. Place-based Learning is a school-wide pedagogical approach that leverages on the Power of Place to create exploratory, meaningful and immersive learning for the students, anytime and anywhere. It capitalises on the school’s physical structure, community landscapes and together with the affordance of technology; facilitates enriched and collaborative learning for students to make connections within the school community and beyond. It also promotes student agency that engages them with the community through inquiry and authentic learning experiences.
